THE GALLERY embodies a new platform for design-driven collections off the beaten track. It feeds on quality rather than quantity making a statement as a trade show in Berlin.

The idea behind the TWELVE calendar project is simple yet entirely captivating: the twelve most promising “new faces” at Germany’s leading modeling agencies will showcase the designs of twelve Berlin fashion labels ranging from ambitious newcomers to more established names.

Each month will present one model and one label. The project also managed to enlist the support of the young Berlin-based fashion photographer Lena Emery. Photography meets painting and airbrush techniques – it’s an aesthetic that mixes traditional fashion photography with elements of contemporary artistic trends and aesthetics. 

TWELVE will be presented as part of a release event in December 2011 and will simultaneously help to reduce the waiting time for the next issue of DERZEIT magazine on the occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week in January 2012.

As part of the METROPOLIS initiative, TWELVE will be distributed parallel to the Berlin Fashion Week in the international fashion cities of Paris, Milan, London and New York together with DERZEIT magazine.

TWELVE will be issued in a limited edition of 800 hand-numbered copies.
